Funeral and Memorial Printing in Orange County

Forest Printing prints funeral programs, memorial posters, and prayer cards from our shop in Laguna Hills. Standard turnaround is 2-3 business days, and same-day is often possible when we have the file in the morning. We work both ways: directly with families, and with Orange County funeral homes and mortuaries. Either way you get a proof before anything prints, and you can bring photos to the counter if you would rather not email them.

Funeral Programs and Orders of Service

The program is usually a folded sheet with the order of service inside, a photo and name on the cover, and the obituary, poem, or acknowledgements on the back. Two formats cover most services:

• 8.5x11 folded to 5.5x8.5, four half-letter pages, the usual choice for a standard service
• 11x17 folded to 8.5x11, four full-size pages, with a second nested sheet when there are readings, hymns, or several photos

Longer booklets, single-sheet orders of service, and folded cards are all straightforward. Programs are quoted per job because the page count, stock, and quantity all move the price. Call (949) 951-7000 or send the details and we will price it.

If you only have photos and typed text, our design team sets the layout for you. Design is $75 per hour and most single programs take an hour or two. We can also match a program from a previous service if the family wants the same look.

Memorial Posters and Photo Boards

Enlarged portraits on an easel at the entrance, photo collage boards for the reception, and framed prints for the family afterward. These are the same posters we run for every other job, so the pricing is the standard ladder:

Mounted posters are printed straight to board, so they stand on an easel without curling and travel to the reception without a frame. If you send us a phone photo, we will tell you before printing whether it will hold up at that size rather than let you find out at the service.

Prayer Cards and Keepsakes

Wallet-size prayer cards and memorial cards on card stock, printed alongside the program so the photo and type match. Typical runs are 50 to 300. Thank-you cards for after the service, register book inserts, and bookmark keepsakes are all things we print regularly. Pricing depends on stock and finishing, so these get quoted with the program.

Working With Funeral Homes and Mortuaries

For funeral directors, the two things that matter are the date and the proof. Both are a phone call. Funeral homes can also open a business account so the invoice goes to the home rather than to the family.

When the Timeline Is Short

Most families reach us two to four days out, which is comfortable. When it is tighter than that:

1. Call first at (949) 951-7000. Do not wait on an email reply. We will check the press schedule while you are on the phone and tell you honestly whether the date works. Same-day depends on what else is running, so it is a confirmation, not a promise.
2. Send whatever you have. A rough Word document and a phone photo is enough to start. We fix files every day.
3. Approve the proof quickly. The proof is usually the slow step. Once it is approved, printing and folding is fast.
4. Pick up at the counter. We are at 23011 Moulton Pkwy, Suite A-1 in Laguna Hills, open Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm, and there is free local delivery in Orange County on orders $50 and up.

What We Need From You

• Text: the order of service, obituary, readings, hymns, acknowledgements. A Word document or an email is fine.
• Photos: the largest files you have. Originals from a phone or camera beat anything pulled from social media, which is usually too small to enlarge.
• Quantity: close to one per expected guest, plus about 20 extras. Rounding up costs less than a second run.
• The service date and time, so we can schedule backwards from it.
• A print-ready PDF if you already have one. Fonts embedded, 0.125 inch bleed.
